Stowe Performing Arts is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization
Stowe Performing Arts began presenting concerts in the former Whisker’s Field on Mountain Road in 1976. At the suggestion of Johannes von Trapp, the concerts were moved to a new venue – the meadow at the Trapp Family Lodge – in the early ’80s. This much-loved summer series has since been known as the Music in the Meadow concerts.
Stowe Performing Arts has continued to expand its offerings to the community in keeping with its mission statement. Sponsorships and proceeds from Stowe Performing Arts’ Music in the Meadow concerts also help fund Noon Music in May, as well as opportunities to present special events. Raffle sales fund performances by professional musicians in Stowe’s schools.
The important work of the organization is carried out by members of the Board, volunteers, and the Executive Director/CEO.
